Last updated at 16:56 16 May 2007

An international effort to find Madeleine McCann was launched today with the setting up of Madeleine's Fund.

Former England rugby captain Martin Johnson joined members of the four-year-old's family, including Madeleine's uncle John McCann and grandparents Brian and Susan Healy, to launch the appeal.
Tonight new footage of Madeleine will be screened in a two-minute film at the UEFA cup clash between Sevilla and Espanyol in Glasgow.

And a new website has been set up dedicated to reuniting her with her family at http://www.findmadeleine.com/.

Madeleine disappeared from the Portuguese holiday resort of Praia Da Luz two weeks ago. Police in Portugal named one sole suspect - Briton Robert Murat - who has been interviewed at length and his house searched.

Earlier today Madeleine's aunt Philomena McCann visited Westminster and met Chancellor Gordon Brown, who threw his weight behind the campaign to find her.

Ms McCann said she had been given some useful advice and was delighted by the attention Madeleine's case is receiving.

She said: "Personally I am heartened by the support I have received today in Parliament.
"There have been lots of suggestions from the top to some of the lesser, but as much appreciated, individuals in Parliament.
"The Chancellor gave me some moral support and advice which I would firstly like to share with my brother before I share it with the rest of the country."

Ms McCann spent several hours in talks and also attended Prime Minister's Questions.
She said her brother Gerry and sister-in-law Kate would be pleased that the British Parliament had been so supportive.

Madeleine's Fund was launched with rugby star Martin Johnson at the Walker Stadium in Leicester.
Family, friends and the former England player met with lawyers who are helping the McCann family assess their options for taking the search forward.

"This fund will be a vehicle to help our family get our darling wee niece back," the girl's uncle John McCann said.

Martin Johnson said: "As a parent, as a father, it really does hit home."
Tonight's film to be shown at the Uefa Cup clash between Sevilla and Espanyol in Glasgow, called Find Madeleine, will be screened at Hampden Park in a bid to raise awareness of the case among visiting fans from the two Spanish teams.

Uefa official Graham Turner confirmed the DVD - which has the soundtrack of the Simple Minds hit Don't You Forget About Me - will be played on a video scoreboard in the break.
